Catalyst2 is a unique software tool that depicts a hypothetical yet realistic picture of the asset over time. Much like a mortgage amortization schedule gives information that is critical to managing costs and benefits of a mortgage loan, Catalyst2 software models the effects that earnings, taxation and inflation have in the long run on an IRA. With this valuable information, one can make more informed decisions like:

  • How much do interest rates affect my plan over time?
  • Will minimum distributions satisfy my income needs?
  • How much would additional contributions help?
  • How much is inflation going to impact my downstream income?

The software generates a two-page proposal with backup spreadsheets that illustrate hypothetical comparisons in a Plan A versus Plan B format. These consolidated reports will assist the owner in determining what courses of action are best suited to maximize the IRA's long term value.

Based on the IRA owner's age and current account balance, the software allows the user to input variables for the following list of assumptions:

  • Contributions to be made to the plan
  • How long contributions are to be made
  • Estimated rate of return to be earned on the plan balance
  • Estimated income tax rate to be paid on distributions
  • Choice between specified distributions or Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
  • Annual specified distribution amounts taken before or in excess of RMDs
  • Age to begin taking annual specified distributions
  • Distribution annual percentage increase for inflation

This report can be updated or modified at any time to reflect any changes in the owner's assumptions that may take place over time.

All numerical values shown are estimates; examples are for illustrative purposes only and are based on hypothetical interest and tax assumptions. When considering asset reallocation, we suggest that all prospective users consult with a tax specialist, attorney, or financial advisor.
